We Rescue and Foster Amazing Dogs to Forever Families

This means that we are not striving to take in high numbers of animals, but instead to give the highest quality of care and a better experience for each individual. The animals in our care come from high-kill animal shelters, owner surrenders, neglect situations, puppy mills, and from fellow rescuers. Some of these animals have been abused, neglected, abandoned, forgotten, or simply re-homed due to necessity or convenience. We are not here to pass judgment upon people who need to rehome their animals.

While waiting to be seen, I held his huge frame in my awkward arms and he locked eyes with me. From that moment on, he sought me out in any room at every moment and would always watch me and keep me in his sight. There were many times that the vets counseled us that he should be euthanized, but his numbers were continuing to trend in a positive direction so we held strong in our resolve to help him. Mercury also kept watching with those loving and pleading eyes that were full of life, even if his body was a bag of bones. His eyes declared with absolute certainty that it was not his time to go. Upon arriving at the shelter, the employee brought out a bag of bones slung over her shoulder.

This organization has not yet reported any program information. I contacted my ex-husband and informed him of what this non profit was doing and they refuse to give us our dogs back.

We vaccinated, microchip, perform dentals as needed and have also performed orthopaedic surgeries, cherry eye surgeries, tumor removal, and other medical procedures as needed. Once a dog enters our rescue, he or she remains our focus for the remainder of their lives. We adopt them to forever homes on a contract with a strict return policy. We have no physical address, as we operate solely out of foster homes. We are a 501 non-profit organization dedicated to ethical care of animals with an emphasis on quality over quantity.

The goal is ALWAYS what is best for the animal but with consideration and respect for the humans as well. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life. Build relationships with key people who manage and lead nonprofit organizations with GuideStar Pro. We started this non-profit because the need is plain to see. Our goal is to make a difference by rescuing dogs from over-crowded shelters, fostering them in our homes, and finding them great forever homes. Every life that we've saved is infinitely important and we've highlighted a few of our rescue animals who passed away but will never be forgotten.

The emergency hospital helped Mercury through his triage stage in order to keep him alive but they had exhausted their options about a week after he was rescued. They encouraged us to euthanize Mercury but when we spent time with him alone, he looked me in the eyes again and it was clear that he had the desire to live. He wasn't in any pain and needed love, nutrition, and further medical care. I was willing to try anything for him and decided that if he did die, it would be in a home with loving arms around him instead of in a hospital setting. Importantly, our rescue animals remain our focus at all times.

Some dogs also receive a dental cleaning when medically recommended. Our goal is to find the best and most appropriate home for each individual dog. When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. We are a rescue focusing on dachshunds, dachshund mixes, and other small dogs that are in the shelters or surrendered by their owners.
